It’s my company’s 25th anniversary, and to celebrate, they took us on an all-expenses-paid trip to the Azores. One of the reasons for choosing this destination is their commitment to sustainability, as the Azores is renowned as the world’s leading sustainable tourism destination. It makes perfect sense for our 25th anniversary celebration to take place there. I’m truly grateful to work for a company that values its employees and prioritizes sustainability while providing us with the opportunity to visit a location outside of Canada.

Before our trip, the company gifted us with a beautifully branded backpack and a thoughtfully curated toiletry bag filled with all the essential items for our travels across Europe. As a pin enthusiast, I eagerly added my personal touch to the backpack to set it apart from the others.

On the day of our flight, Tommy and I decided to carpool using Uber. He was determined to leave at a specific time, even though the airline instructed us to arrive at the airport three hours before takeoff. Nevertheless, we arrived at the airport on time; however, some of the other members were concerned that Tommy and I might not make it since we were the last ones to arrive. A little secret: before the flight, Tommy and I decided to try some edibles, despite our inexperience. Now, in hindsight, it probably wasn’t the brightest idea to mix munchies with a 4 hours flight, but hey, we were just two thrill-seekers haha! I think I was pretty subtle about being high but Tommy definitely was trying really hard not to reveal. However, you can definitely see the sleepiness in my eyes on the plane.

Although I took some edibles and my eyes were physically droopy, I wasn’t really able to sleep on the plane. We arrived at the Azores very early in the morning.

EDIT: I honestly forgot everything about this trip because it took me forever to write this but here are some pictures to reminisce about.
